Sympathy for the (Devil),, I Mean Governing Body

should we feel some sympathy for the governing body?

after all they have taken on thr reins of power over a corporation that has very bad,, dead end business stradagy based on a dellusional idea that the end of the world would come based on dates found or imagined in the bible,, a book about ancient deity worship with all its superstition about what make him angry and mad.. they have bought into this dellusion with their heart and soul,,they stand to loss big time now that the internet is here,, the internet is their satan and his demons on the net are taking aim..

I have no sympathy what-so-ever for the GB. I think they are totally aware that it is total BS. There are many of us who left the organization and gave up friends and family because we have something they don't, Personal Integrity.

Someone who is knowingly misleading others for personal selfish reasons doesn't even get my pity. So maybe they're staying because they want financial security in their old age? Tough! Look how many JW's & ex JW's are living in poverty because of the education policies of the GB. Sorry for the rant. Leslie

where the change in seasons is noted by how foggy and damp it gets in the summer.

I absolutely love September here in Southern Ontario. The leaves are starting to turn, the nights have that crispness to them (great for sleeping) and the night sky is so clear that the stars look like diamonds on a black velvet cloth.

At what age do people 'wake up'?

i was thinking about this question recently after being at the meeting when new pioneers were announced for the 2013 service year.. we have a dozen or so pioneers in the congregation, and most are in their 20's.

some absolutely love the things they are taught and can't wait to spread the good news.. others in the congregation are going through the motions, tired of hearing the same old same old but have no way to change things now.

then there are a couple like me.

Was born in, woke up at 45 & got totally out at 48. A few things got the wheels turning in my head. The first thing was the criticism of Catholics for their pedophile problem while hiding pedophiles within the JW. religion. Next was their criticism of churches asking for $$$ when there were so many meeting parts and articles on giving $$$ to to the WT. A big eye-opener on that was when they started telling people how they could will their stocks, homes, even jewelry to the society.

Another thing was the vitriol spewed aginst homosexuals. IMHO I believe a person is born gay, or they're not. We were always told that people 'chose' to be gay. I always thought, why would someone 'choose' a sexual preference that would cause them to become a social pariah. It just didn't make sense.

The last biggie for me was the hypocritical criticism of other religions that had their own literature such as Mormons with the Book of Mormon or Catholics with the Catechism, etc. The WT. is no different. We were not encouraged to read the Bible & pray for answers to questions, but were directed to look up things in the WT. publications.

That's my 2 cents. Leslie

the book of daniel was almost certainly written in the 2nd century bce, probably based on some historical accounts mixed with jewish folklore.

with that in mind, and given that there isn't any evidence that nebuchadnezzar went insane for seven 'times', is there any other period from which the reference to "seven times" at daniel 4:13-17 may be derived?.

i continued beholding in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, look!

Cagefighter silently entered the new system Sept 8, 2012

i believe i might have silently entered the new system this morning.

you see, i woke up at 6 am on a saturday (that is a sign of the seventh seal in itself).

i was supposed to go to my first habitat for humanity build with a bunch of fellow evil doers from christedom where we would feast on the blood of matyrs and have a satanic orgy before building a house on the backs of captured slaves.. instead i met some really nice people and did some work myself.

Mamochan13 so true about all the good people out here. example: last weekend there was a huge charity garage sale in my town, with contributions from people for miles around. Just found out they've been doing this 18 years. They raise money to build supervised, independant living homes for disabled and mentally challenged people. Anything left at the end gets shipped to under-priviledged and needy overseas. The unselfish giving of time and stuff for the cause is heart-warming. Leslie
